The King Vulture (Sarcoramphus papa) is one of the most unknown bird species in Mexico, actually inhabits tropical forest of the south but historically was distributed too along the Pacific coast. It feeds on carcasses and usually lives in colonies with other vulture species as the black vulture (Coragyps atratus), for survive needs long patches of intact habitat without human presence.
