ENERO 2011



Maderas del Carmen is a great ecosystem in the border of Coahuila, Mexico continuing in south Texas, USA; is a vast territory of the Chihuahuan desert where today in day is possible to see species as desert bighorn sheep, pronghorn, and bear in the same day thanks to the efforts of government agencies, NGO´s and private companies. The image represents a common scenario of the sunsets of this pristine area.

DICIEMBRE 2010


After almost a decade photographing the natural wonders of Mexico at the end of this year declared as the Biodiversity year, Dimension Natural SC have launched the book "Mexico: Biodiversity and Endangered Species", with images of Santiago Gibert and other ILCP photographers, showing the most endangered mexican flora and fauna species.

Grey whales (Eschrichtius robustus) visits Baja California, México during the winter season coming from Alaska, they congregate in the Bahia Asunción and Bahía Magdalena looking for food and warm waters. The image was taken in Bahía Magdalena during a survey flihgt.

The tufted jay (Cyanocorax inca) is an endangered and endemic bird of the Sierra Madre Occidental in México is distributed in the states of Durango and Sinaloa, lives in pine-oak forests and is an incredible defender of its territory. Resplandent quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno) is considered one of the most beautiful bird in the world due its iridiscent green coloration and its spectacular caudal feathers that sometimes measures more than 60cm long, in Mexico is posible to find in the highest evergreen forest of Chiapas in the Biosfere Reserve of "El Triunfo", in the image a male is taking care of the neonates that are in the nest.














Wealth ecosystems provides us environmental services as carbon capture, water, flood prevention... but also spiritual benefits that are difficult to measure but easy to feel. In the image a father with his child enjoys the sunset in a little comunity of Calakmul Reserve, Campeche, Mexico.

Akismon municipality is located in the Huasteca Potosina, San Luis Potosí, México, and is world recognized due a natural treasure named "El Sotano de las Golondrinas" a cave with a diameter of almost 60 meters and a fall of 400 meters. Inside the cave is another living world of insects, anfibians, bats, shallows and the mexican endemic green parakeet (Aratinga holochlora). In the photography due the long expososure resembles a paint where a couple of green parakeets enters into the cave.
